My Voice Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

This privacy policy applies to the MyVoice app ("Application") for mobile devices, created by Thomas Ford ("Service Provider") as a Freemium service. This service is intended for use "AS IS".

Information collection and use

The Application collects certain information automatically when you download and use it. This may include:

- Your device's Internet Protocol (IP) address

- The features of the Application you use, and the time, date, and duration of your visits

- The operating system and device type you use

- A UserID used to associate your preferences and subscription status with your use of the Application

The Service Provider uses this information to operate, maintain, and improve the Application, and to send you important service-related notices. The Service Provider does not use your information to send marketing communications.

Data stored only on your device

The following is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to the Service Provider's servers:

- Saved and favourite phrases

- Voice preferences, speed, pitch, and other customisation settings

Text you type

The text you type stays on your device when you use a free, on-device voice. It is transmitted off your device only when you choose a premium AI voice — see "Premium voice synthesis (AI voices)" below.

Premium voice synthesis (AI voices)

When you choose a premium AI voice, the text you ask the Application to speak is sent over a secure, authenticated connection to our backend (Google Firebase) and then on to our third-party voice synthesis provider, Inworld AI (https://inworld.ai/privacy), solely to generate the spoken audio. The Application asks for your permission before any text is sent to this service, and only the text is sent — we do not attach your name, email, or contact details.

Under our zero-data-retention agreement with Inworld, your text is processed transiently to produce the audio and is not stored by Inworld or used to train AI models. Neither MyVoice nor Inworld retains the text once the audio has been generated. If you only use the free, on-device voices, no text ever leaves your device.

Analytics

The Application uses Mixpanel to collect anonymised, aggregated usage analytics that help the Service Provider understand how the Application is used and improve it. All users are opted out of analytics by default and are only opted in with consent. You can change your choice at any time in the Settings screen of the Application.

Third-party access

The Application uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policy. Aggregated, anonymised analytics data may be shared with these services to help the Service Provider improve the Application; in addition, the text you ask a premium AI voice to speak is shared with Inworld AI as described under "Premium voice synthesis" above.

- Inworld AI (https://inworld.ai/privacy) — premium AI voice synthesis (processes the text you choose to speak, under a zero-data-retention agreement)

- Google Firebase (https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy) — backend, authentication, and app infrastructure

- Google Play Services (https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/) — sign-in and core services (Android)

- Mixpanel (https://mixpanel.com/legal/privacy-policy/) — anonymised usage analytics

The Service Provider may also disclose information:

- as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process;

- when necessary in good faith to protect rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, or to investigate fraud;

- with trusted service providers who work on the Service Provider's behalf, do not have an independent use of the information, and have agreed to adhere to this policy.

Subscriptions and billing

Subscriptions and in-app purchases are managed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). The Service Provider receives only anonymised confirmation of your subscription status and never sees your payment details.

Opt-out rights

You can stop all collection of information by uninstalling the Application using the standard uninstall process on your device or via the app marketplace. You can also opt out of analytics collection at any time via the Settings screen in the Application. All users are opted out of analytics by default and are only opted in with consent.

Data retention

The Service Provider will retain automatically collected data for as long as you use the Application and for a reasonable time thereafter. To request deletion of any data associated with your use, please contact tomford.kly@gmail.com and the Service Provider will respond within a reasonable time.

Children

The Application is not directed at anyone under the age of 13. The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If the Service Provider discovers that a child under 13 has provided personal information, it will be deleted immediately from their servers. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information, please contact tomford.kly@gmail.com.

Security

The Service Provider takes the confidentiality of your information seriously and provides physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect the information it processes and maintains.

Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The Service Provider will notify you of changes by updating this page. Continued use of the Application constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. This policy is effective as of 17 July 2026.

Your consent

By using the Application, you consent to the processing of your information as described in this Privacy Policy.
