Mission: Decoding the Gut-Immune Axis in Metabolic & Muscle Disorders.
Dr. Youn leverages her rigorous Veterinary Medicine expertise to lead our complex in vivo modeling initiatives. Supported by her independent KIST Postdoctoral Grant, she investigates the critical mechanistic links between gut-derived metabolites and systemic immune responses, particularly focusing on cancer cachexia. An award-winning researcher (KSABC, PSK), she sets the standard for translational in vivo science in our lab.

Mission: Mechanistic Validation of Cancer Cachexia Therapeutics.
With a solid foundation in natural product biotechnology and in vivo efficacy evaluation, Minjeong transitions into tackling complex geriatric diseases. Building on her award-winning research on antioxidant-mediated lipid regulation, she will drive the preclinical validation of novel cachexia therapeutics utilizing our advanced DO mouse cohorts.

Mission: Systems Genetics & Transcriptomic Drivers of Sarcopenia.
Tigist spearheads our advanced systems genetics projects utilizing Diversity Outbred (DO) and knock-out (KO) mouse models. Operating as an independent project lead under the prestigious UST Young Scientist Grant, she deciphers massive muscle transcriptomic datasets to discover novel regulators of sarcopenia. Her data-driven approach has earned top honors at major molecular biology and ginseng research congresses (KSMCB, KSABC).

Mission: Engineering the Microbiome-Host Interface.
Ji-Hyeon brings a highly translational, product-oriented mindset to our lab. Her background in microbial fermentation and bioprocessing—evidenced by multiple first-author publications and patents—positions her perfectly to explore how targeted manipulation of gut microbiota can systematically improve host metabolic health.

Graduating at the absolute top of his class at USTH, Minh possesses a robust molecular biology toolkit, ranging from rigorous cytotoxicity screening to advanced cell culture assays. He is transitioning his profound expertise in phytochemical analysis toward our multi-omics pipeline to discover the next generation of precision bioactives.
