Mytyll is a local-first point-of-sale, inventory, ledger, reporting, receipt, backup, and optional customer-display application developed by Hitesh Dogra. This Privacy Policy explains how Mytyll accesses, uses, stores, and shares information.
For privacy questions or requests, contact:
- **Developer:** Hitesh Dogra
- **App:** Mytyll
- **Email:** Artsintech@gmail.com
Depending on the features you use, Mytyll may handle:
- shop profile information, such as shop name, logo, address, telephone number, email address, GST number, currency, receipt preferences, and UPI payment QR image;
- inventory information, including product names, categories, barcodes or SKUs, stock, costs, and selling prices;
- sales and ledger information, including items, charges, discounts, taxes, totals, payment status, returns, refunds, dates, and profit calculations;
- optional customer information entered by the retailer or customer, such as name, telephone number, email address, customer or loyalty identifier, and receipt preference;
- local owner credentials, recovery information, biometric-login preferences, backup settings, and paired-display credentials;
- images selected by the user for shop logos and UPI QR codes; and
- nearby-device and local-network connection information required to pair a customer display.
Mytyll does not request payment-card numbers or online-banking credentials. A displayed UPI QR is supplied by the retailer, and payment is completed outside Mytyll.
Information is used only to provide features selected by the user, including:
- creating bills and receipts;
- managing inventory, sales, ledger entries, returns, refunds, taxes, and reports;
- remembering shop settings and securing access on the device;
- creating, exporting, restoring, printing, or sharing backups and receipts;
- scanning product barcodes and pairing QR codes; and
- showing the live cart, payment QR, payment state, and shop branding on a paired customer display.
Mytyll does not use personal data for advertising, profiling, or cross-app tracking.
Mytyll does not operate a cloud account or developer-controlled database for shop, customer, inventory, or transaction data. Normal app data is stored on the user's device in the Android app sandbox.
Local data normally remains until the user deletes records, clears the app's storage, or uninstalls the app. Automatic restore points stored inside the app are normally removed when app storage is cleared or the app is uninstalled.
Backups or receipts exported to a user-selected folder or another application are outside Mytyll's storage and may remain after uninstall. The user must delete those copies from the selected storage location or receiving application.
The Mytyll owner login is a local device credential, not an online Mytyll account. Mytyll does not send the owner password or recovery key to the developer.
If biometric login is enabled, Android performs biometric authentication. Mytyll does not receive or store fingerprint or face templates. Biometric information remains under Android and device security controls.
If both the owner password and recovery key are lost and biometric access is unavailable, Mytyll support cannot retrieve or reset the local data.
Mytyll can create local automatic restore points and user-selected portable `.mytyll` backups. Portable backups are encrypted using credentials confirmed by the user. Mytyll does not upload these backups to a developer server.
If a backup is saved to cloud storage, email, messaging, removable storage, or another service chosen by the user, that service's privacy policy and security practices apply.
The optional customer display uses Wi-Fi Direct or the local Wi-Fi network to communicate with a paired device. Pairing uses a temporary QR token and saved device credentials. Live messages between the POS and customer display are encrypted and limited to display and approved customer-input functions.
The display may receive the shop name, shop logo, cart items, quantities, prices, totals, payment state, and retailer-provided UPI QR. A customer email address entered on the display may be sent back to the paired POS.
On Android versions where Wi-Fi Direct discovery requires location permission, Mytyll requests nearby-device or legacy location permission for device discovery. Mytyll does not use that permission to determine, store, or transmit the user's physical location.
Mytyll uses Google Play services code-scanner components for barcode and QR scanning. The scanner interface may require Google Play services to download a scanning module. Mytyll receives the decoded barcode or QR value; it does not retain a camera image from the scan. Google's handling of its services is governed by Google's privacy terms.
Mytyll does not sell personal information and does not share app data with advertisers or data brokers.
Information leaves Mytyll only when necessary for a feature the user chooses, such as:
- sending receipt details and an attached PDF to a user-selected email application;
- sharing, printing, saving, or opening a receipt or report through Android's system interface;
- exporting a backup or XML ledger file to a selected destination; or
- transmitting display information to a trusted, paired customer-display device.
Once information is passed to an email provider, printer service, storage provider, messaging app, or other selected recipient, that party's privacy policy applies.
Mytyll includes Google Play services code-scanner libraries but does not include advertising, analytics, or developer-operated crash-reporting SDKs.
Mytyll may request or use:
- **Internet:** to support Google Play services module delivery and local network communication;
- **Wi-Fi state and change Wi-Fi state:** to establish and maintain customer-display connections;
- **Nearby Wi-Fi devices:** to discover and pair a customer display;
- **Legacy coarse/fine location on Android 12L and earlier:** required by Android for Wi-Fi Direct discovery, not for location tracking;
- **Biometric/fingerprint:** for optional local biometric unlock; and
- **Android document and sharing interfaces:** only when the user selects a file, backup location, receipt destination, email app, or printer.
Mytyll uses Android app sandboxing, local access controls, authenticated customer-display pairing, encrypted display messages, and encrypted portable backups. No security measure can guarantee absolute protection. Users should secure their device, protect their recovery key, review paired displays, and keep encrypted backups in a trusted location.
Mytyll does not create a server-side account. Users can delete individual inventory items, categories, ledger entries, customer details, or other records through available app controls. To remove all local app data, use Android **Settings → Apps → Mytyll → Storage → Clear data**, or uninstall Mytyll.
Clearing app data or uninstalling cannot delete copies previously exported to folders, cloud providers, email apps, printers, or other services. Those copies must be deleted separately.
Because the developer does not hold the local database, the developer cannot remotely inspect or delete data stored only on the user's device.
Mytyll is a business tool and is not directed to children. The developer does not knowingly collect children's personal information through a developer-operated service.
Data stored by Mytyll remains on the user's device unless the user exports or shares it. The destination selected by the user may process information in another country under its own terms.
This Privacy Policy may be updated when Mytyll's features, data practices, or legal obligations change. The updated policy will show a revised “Last updated” date. Material changes should be reflected in the app and on the public policy page.
