Monsters of the Cthulhu Mythos

Monsters of the Cthulhu Mythos are derived from the horror stories of H.P. Lovecraft in the mid-1900s. The central monster "Cthulhu" originates from Lovecraft's novel "The Call of Cthulhu." The monsters depicted in the overarching mythos are inspired by Lovecraft's stories, and are reminiscent of the "old ones." They are described as cosmic ancient deities with unknown powers and are worshiped by insane cults. Simply looking at these monsters is said to make one go insane. These beings each represent powers of old and could be described as gods rather than monsters.
