Mysteryology Lab is committed to advancing scientific understanding of natural hazard prediction through transparent, collaborative research.
We are actively inviting qualified researchers, analysts, and domain experts to participate in the peer review of our flagship project:
Forecasting California Wildfires via Celestial Cycles – A Scientific Validation of the Mysteryology Method.
Our goal is to rigorously test the model’s predictive skill and strengthen it through constructive feedback and collaborative enhancements.
The California Wildfire Prediction Project uses a novel, non-meteorological feature set to forecast ignition-prone intervals.
Our variables focus on cosmic–terrestrial resonance, including:
Lprox – Proximity to nearest lunar phase
MPTI – Moon Phase Transition Index
Ssunspot – Normalized daily sunspot count
Mkp – Normalized geomagnetic Kp index
ETFI – Earth Tidal Force Index
Moon–Earth and Sun–Earth distance metrics
Normalized lunar illumination (Imoon)
Spatial distance to the Nevada Triangle circumcenter
These features are integrated into a machine learning framework and tested against a blind dataset (January 2025 wildfire events removed) to ensure unbiased validation.
We welcome feedback in the following areas:
Statistical robustness – Are results significant beyond chance?
Model performance – Accuracy, recall, precision, F1-score evaluation.
Variable significance – Which features drive predictions, and which may be redundant.
Integration suggestions – How to combine cosmic factors with meteorology/fuel models.
Methodological clarity – Are processes reproducible and transparent?
Reviews may be conducted anonymously or with attribution, at the reviewer’s preference.
We also invite:
Data partnerships – Access to high-resolution ignition data for further validation.
Joint research – Applying the Mysteryology Method to other hazards (earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, volcanic activity).
Grant collaborations – Co-authoring proposals for funding expansion to meteorology and fuel datasets.
