Project Mystery of History has emerged from the need of modernization of the class by introducing digital tools, from the teachers' need for professional improvement and the need of broadening students’ horizons and cooperation on international level. The project is an extension of a successful e-Twinning project ''Little Curators'' initiated by elementary school kraljice Jelene.
Aim of the project is to increase the quality of teachers' skills in elementary schooling by exchange of practices, work methodology and by creation of stimulating work environment. 1500 participants will be a part of the project.
It's based on younger children, 7–11. Hence the idea of the border countries partnership.
Project's partners are two schools in Italy (Ferrara, Piacenza), one in Slovenia (Ptuj) and two in Croatia (Primorski Dolac, Solin).
Project will last 19 months (September 2017 - March 2019).
12 activities will be implemented in which students and teachers will participate and they will constantly intertwine
*School is cool-activities which are going to be realized in regular class at different subjects
*Let's play and learn is an activity which will be realized outside at the historical or natural sites
*The 21st century kid- Students will be taught how to use simple web 2.0 tools in order to make presentation materials that will be posted on web pages.
*Let the art take part- Students will take part in art workshops at school, museums and sites.
*Think and blink- Students will make and create educational crosswords, rebus, labyrinths and they will be posted on web pages.
*Choose the news- Everybody will inform the members of their community about project activities.
*Take part in Museum night-Regarding Museum night, students and teachers will organize a programme and exhibition of their artworks and works of partner schools students.
*Celebrations-Europe day and Erasmus day will be commemorated. At the end of the project, final celebration will be organized.
*All in one-includes work of all partners on editing and enrichment of the web page and Twinspace
*Communication will continue after the end of the project.
*Evaluation will be implemented during the project. Questionnaires, evaluation questionnaires, questionnaires on the use of 2.0 tools, written reviews and questionnaires on the quality of workshops will be used.
*Dissemination will be implemented during the project.The aim of dissemination is a constant visibility of the project, that is, the visibility of all project activities as we could raise the public's awareness of a necessity of ICT usage in the children's education.
3 Transnational Project Meetings have been planned.
The 1st and the 3rd will be held in Croatia, in Solin and Primorski Dolac, and the 2nd one in Ptuj, Slovenia.
In the beginning of the project, all participants will be acquainted with the work methodology during the project. Project will be implemented through 3 phases in all schools. At least two historical sites and one natural landmark will be chosen, one per each phase, and students will be able to get acquainted with and explore them through field work.
After each phase, materials that will be used for creating materials on the web will be prepared, processed and chosen. After that, they will be shared in school, amongst partners and wider. Following the ideas of contemporary schools teaching will be based on dialogic, research and problem solving methods with the emphasis on cooperative and discovery learning methods and with lots of practical work and critical thinking.
Material results of the project are: PPT presentations, videos, photo albums, artworks, quizzes, calendars, bookmarks, flipbook and web page.
It is considered that the following results will be achieved during and after the project: language and digital competences of all participants will improve, students’ and teachers’ motivation will increase, teaching will be modernized by exchanging practices between teachers, cooperation between school and local communities will improve, relations between school and families will strengthen through parents involvement, teachers’ organization abilities will improve and intercultural dialogue on all levels will be promoted. After the end of financing of the project, activities and work methodology will be public and visible for everyone to see on eTwinning, web pages, YouTube project channel and everyone will be able to use the materials.
Workshops on which teachers will pass on their knowledge on planning and implementing a project and on new digital tools to other teachers will be organized and the exchange of practices will continue in the future. Students will continue to create similar workshops on historical and natural sites together with their teachers suitable for their age and interest.
Cooperation with partners will continue in the future on some new projects.
