Privacy Policy for MySnackPal

MySnackPal ("the app") is a food diary app developed by Kylan Hill. This policy
explains what data the app handles and how.
MySnackPal does not collect, store, or transmit your personal data to us or
to any third party. There is no account, no login, and no backend server.
Everything you log stays on your device.
WHAT DATA THE APP STORES, AND WHERE
All data you enter into MySnackPal — foods, meals, diary entries, quantities,
timestamps, and your goals/settings — is stored only in a local database on
your device. None of it is uploaded to MySnackPal's developer or to any
server we operate, because no such server exists.
Uninstalling the app permanently deletes this data. You can also delete
individual entries, meals, or foods at any time from within the app.
FOOD SEARCH (THIRD-PARTY SERVICE)
When you search for a food online, MySnackPal sends your search text to the
U.S. Department of Agriculture's FoodData Central (FDC) public API
(fdc.nal.usda.gov) to retrieve food composition data. This is the only
network request the app makes. That request is subject to the USDA's own
terms and privacy practices, not ours — we don't see or store what you
search for. If you're offline, or only use the app's offline starter foods
and previously downloaded foods, no network request is made at all.
SHARING AND EXPORTS
MySnackPal lets you export your saved meals or history as a CSV file and
share it using your device's own share sheet. That sharing is entirely
under your control: you choose the destination (email, messaging app,
cloud storage, etc.), and the file goes directly there — it does not pass
through us.
WHAT MYSNACKPAL DOES NOT DO
- No account creation or login
- No analytics or usage tracking
- No advertising or ad networks
- No crash reporting or telemetry sent to us
- No selling or sharing of your data with third parties, because we never
receive it in the first place
CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
MySnackPal does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children,
since it doesn't collect data at all. The app is not directed at children.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
If this policy changes, an updated version will be posted here with a new
"Last updated" date.
