Netanya cat
I wrote this poem for that cat in the style of Dr. Seuss:
A cat is a cat and when it has fun
The cat gives a yawn and sits in the sun.
Those bags of cat food are deep and so tall
They're delicious to see but they're not there for me.
A cat is a cat and purrs and is funny
A cat wakes to play whenever it's sunny.

Poems I wrote
New Year's poem I wrote.
New Year's
New year's bells loudly ringing.
Firework shows and people singing.
Clocks striking midnight toll the day.
A brand new year starts today.
Time fast hurtling down the track.
People moving not looking back.
Feasts and hosts spiced cider toasts.
Cold winter breeze evergreen trees.
Joyful dancers on fields of snow.
Music and revelries all a glow.
Rudolph's in Miami where he rented a cabana.
Wants to buy a bottle of Dolce & Gabbana.
Prancer bolted and flew to Havana.
Couldn't find it in Champaign-Urbana.
New Year's day starts this year.
Let's begin it with a cheer.
Poem I wrote for Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving Dinner
C'mon, man, it's Thanksgiving!
The native people knew the land.
The Pilgrims arrived to lend a hand.
Arriving on the Mayflower boat.
Wanting religious freedom and the vote.
They worked the land not much to show.
Winters freezing with lots of snow.
Pilgrims celebrating that first harsh year.
Offering their thanks to still be here.
Get a turkey and make it crispy.
Cook it, baste it, in a jiffy.
Tasty gravy and home-made rolls.
Original recipe slaw and casserole.
Pecan pie and mashed potatoes.
Garden salad with backyard tomatoes.
Corn on the cob, squash, carrots, and peas.
Don't eat it all leave some for me.
Watching TV, started to blab.
The turkey ran out and caught a cab.

A Zans Goes Clubbing
Gonna party tonight.
Till the morning gets right.
We're off to the pub.
And then to the club.
Got a ride and my bling.
Got a whip that can sing.
You can search that on Bing.
Find you fast anything.
Then something went thump.
I am not Forrest Gump.
A Zans with a hump.
Caused me to jump.
Come and give me a hug.
Gotta bottle of bub.
Feel my style and my flow.
I'm all ready to go.
With a Zans and a cat.
All through the night.
I'll take my Lear for a spin.
And reach a new height.
Written by me in the style of Dr Seuss with influences from Eminem.
Celebrating Succot
My Succah is not a house.
My Succah is not a mouse.
My Succah is not a boat.
If it rained all day it would not float.
My Succah has a table and seats.
Guests arrive starving they're ready to eat.
Succot is the most joyous of seasons.
If you don't know why, here are the reasons.
Forty-years in the Sinai the sand was hot.
Without fast food shops open or trips to Eilat.
Build your Succah outdoors under the stars and the sky.
Israelites lived in the desert that's the reason why.
You'll need a Lulav, Etrog, Myrtles, and Willows.
Get a table, a fluorescent light, a few chairs, and some pillows.
The family soon arrives hungry with chilled wine and cold beer.
Some bring flowers and candy like they brought us last year.
We light candles, say blessings, then eat a large meal.
Wave the Lulav and Etrog and do it for real.

Books and Cooks
Looks and rooks, books and cooks.
Never budge if you see a zoox.
Families with uncles, aunts and some cousins.
Sit at a feast maybe there are dozens.
Platters of food heaped so high.
What a lot of nice things go by.
New years, more years, in time they go.
Best wishes from me both high and low.
Clocks march fast and days don't last.
This year is past it couldn't last.
A poem I wrote in the style of Dr Seuss.
Finding a Hoopoe Bird
Finding a Hoopoe is fun and is easy.
Look on a day that's sunny and breezy.Â
There's a Hoopoe and if I'm right.
The Hoopoe is singing with all its might.
Startled Hoopoes take wing and they fly.
Hoopoes start singing when I walk by.
I see a Hoopoe on a hill.
Eating insects with its bill.
Go to a prairie.
Go to a farm.
Go to a barn.
And spin it some yarn.
OOP, OOP, OOP.
A Hoopoe sings the Hoopoe song.
Taking flight like a colorful kite.
No insects left for it to bite.
Hoopoes flying coming near.
Hoopoes flying here and there.
Up down Hoopoes come and go.
Hoopoes fly fast you can't be slow.
