INTRODUCTION
This Privacy Policy explains how Myra ("Myra", "we", "us", "our") collects, uses, stores, and
protects your information when you use the Myra mobile application (the "App").
By using the App, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
Account and authentication
• Email address, if you sign in with email and password
• Authentication identifiers from Apple Sign In or Google Sign In
• Account creation and last sign-in timestamps
Profile (all optional)
• Display name
• Date of birth
• Gender
Journal and app content
• Journal entries, including text and metadata (for example date and mood)
• Messages in AI-assisted conversations linked to entries
• Notes you create
• AI-generated summaries, weekly insights, and Thought Thread groupings based on your entries
Usage and subscriptions
• Number of AI chat sessions used in the current calendar month (free tier limit)
• Whether you have an active paid subscription and which plan (monthly or yearly)
• When subscription status was last confirmed with Apple
Device and preferences
• Reminder settings (on or off, time)
• Week start preference
• Whether Face ID or other biometric unlock is enabled
• Other local settings needed for the App to work
Voice input (microphone and speech recognition)
When you use voice-to-text:
• The App uses the microphone to capture audio
• Audio is sent to Apple's speech recognition service to produce text
• The text is used as your journal input
Myra does not record or store your voice. Audio is used only for transcription. Apple's handling of that data is described in Apple's privacy materials.
Technical data
• Limited operational information used only to fix bugs and keep the App reliable
• Diagnostic data does not include the text of your journal
2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We use your information to:
• Run the App (journaling, notes, AI chat, insights, Thought Threads)
• Sign you in and keep your account secure
• Call the OpenAI service to generate AI replies, summaries, insights, and thread themes
• Apply the free-tier monthly chat limit and unlock paid features for subscribers
• Keep your journal and usage in sync when you use the same account on more than one device
• Send reminders and notifications if you turn them on
• Support optional Face ID or biometric unlock (handled only on your device by iOS)
• Improve stability and security
• Answer support and privacy requests
3. AI PROCESSING
Myra uses the OpenAI API. Only the text needed for a given feature is sent. AI results may be wrong, incomplete, or unsuitable for important decisions.
Myra is not medical, psychiatric, legal, or emergency advice. Do not use it instead of a professional or emergency services. In an emergency, contact local emergency services.
How OpenAI treats your data is described in OpenAI's public privacy policy (on the OpenAI website).
4. WHERE DATA IS STORED
• Account, profile, journal entries, notes, and generated insights
— Google Firebase (Firestore), hosted on Google Cloud
• Free-tier chat usage for the month
— On your device and mirrored to Firebase so the same account stays in sync
• App preferences and biometric on/off
— On your device only
• Subscription purchase and renewal
— Handled by Apple. We only receive enough information from Apple to know your plan and that payment is valid
• Voice during dictation
— Processed by Apple for transcription; not stored by Myra
5. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
The App uses services from other companies. Each has its own terms and privacy policy:
• Firebase Authentication and Firestore (Google) — sign-in and cloud storage
• Apple Sign In — optional sign-in
• Google Sign In — optional sign-in
• OpenAI — AI-generated text
• Apple speech recognition — voice to text
• Apple StoreKit — subscriptions
• Apple Push Notification service — if you allow notifications
6. NOTIFICATIONS
If you allow notifications, the App may schedule journal reminders and insight-related alerts. You can turn them off in the App or in iOS Settings, Notifications, Myra. Notifications are optional.
7. FACE ID AND BIOMETRICS
If you enable biometric unlock, iOS (for example Face ID) checks your identity on the device.
Myra never receives or stores your face data or other biometric templates.
8. SUBSCRIPTIONS AND PAYMENTS
Purchases, renewals, and cancellations go through the Apple App Store. Myra does not see or store your card number. Apple tells us only what we need to turn premium features on or off.
9. HOW LONG WE KEEP DATA
We keep your information while your account exists and as needed to provide the App.
Deleting an entry or note in the App removes that content from our cloud storage where the App is designed to do so.
If you ask us to delete your account, we delete associated account and profile data in line with our processes.
Uninstalling the App removes local data on that device; your cloud account data remains until you delete it or ask for account deletion.
10. YOUR CHOICES AND RIGHTS
You may:
• View and edit profile fields in the App
• Delete entries and notes in the App
• Turn reminders and biometric lock on or off in the App
• Email us to request account deletion or to ask about your data (see Section 15 for the address and subject line)
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law (for example access, correction, or deletion). We will respond in line with applicable law.
11. CHILDREN
The App is not aimed at children under 13 (or under the minimum age where you live). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we collected information from a child, email myramobileapps@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly.
12. SECURITY
We use reasonable measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls on our backend. No online service can be guaranteed 100% secure.
13. INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS
Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. They use safeguards required for international transfers where applicable.
14. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Policy. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do. If you keep using the App after an update, that usually means you accept the new Policy. If the law requires more notice, we will follow it.
