• Walmart Growth Summit:

Walmart concluded its inaugural India Growth Summit, where export-ready suppliers, innovators, and entrepreneurs from 24 states and union territories participated in pitch meetings. More than 80% of the suppliers received invitations to move forward. The goal was to accelerate exports across categories where India has expertise, including food, consumables, health and wellness, general merchandise, apparel, shoes, home textiles, and toys1.

Walmart Vriddhi Supplier Development Program:

Walmart launched the Walmart Vriddhi program to empower 50,000 Indian MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) to participate in domestic and global supply chains. This program aims to strengthen local manufacturing and support the “Make in India” initiative2.

Collaboration with Flipkart:

Walmart, in association with Flipkart, has reached its goal through the Walmart Vriddhi training and mentorship program. They are empowering MSMEs to participate in supply chains both domestically and globally3.

Research and Education with IIT-Madras:

Walmart Global Tech (WGT) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IIT-M). This collaboration accelerates research in new technology areas and provides continuing education for associates. They also collaborate on projects related to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)4.
