Zomato DEI Initiatives :

Zomato’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)
1. COVID-19 Impact: Over 20% of Zomato employees have been affected by COVID-19, either contracting the virus or caring for infected family members.
2. Inclusive Policies: Implementing equal parental leave for all types of parents (men, women, same-sex, surrogate, or adoptive) and period/menstruation leave to support diverse employee needs.
3. Board Diversity: A diverse Board of Directors, with five independent members out of eight, including four women, reflecting a commitment to gender and cognitive diversity.
4. Cognitive Diversity: Valuing diverse educational and occupational backgrounds, which is goocrucial for innovation and effective decision-making.
5. Long-term Commitment: Building an organizational culture where diversity is present at all levels, ensuring an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive.
CSR INITIATIVES
1. Philosophy and Vision: Zomato is committed to societal betterment, focusing on human, environmental, and social assets with an emphasis on hunger, malnutrition, education, and health through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
2. Objectives and Scope: Zomato’s CSR policy outlines guidelines for sustainable social welfare initiatives, including eradicating hunger, promoting healthcare and education, gender equality, environmental sustainability, and contributing to government funds like the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF) and Swachh Bharat Kosh.
3. Implementation: The CSR Committee, established by the Board, monitors and ensures the execution of CSR activities in compliance with the law. It holds annual and additional meetings as needed to discuss and update CSR activities, prepare status reports, and identify new initiatives.
4. Monitoring and Reporting: A transparent monitoring mechanism is in place, with quarterly updates provided to the Board. The CSR Committee explores new initiatives, formulates detailed plans, and seeks Board approval before implementation.
5. Expenditure and Documentation: Zomato commits to spending at least 2% of its average net profits from the previous three years on CSR activities annually. All CSR expenditure is documented and maintained for five years, ensuring accountability and transparency.
