The Story of My New Hampshire Garden by Sienna Larson

Since she was a young girl, Sienna could be found playing in the garden, enjoying the sights and sounds, the smell of roses and picking fresh tomatoes. Today, she can still be found “playing” in the garden, but now it’s with trowel and pruners in hand. She really got the gardening bug when she bought her first home in Deerfield, NH 20 years ago and had an enormous space to play and plant in. Her focus is on perennials and ornamental shrubs that thrive in New Hampshire, selecting ones that attract pollinators through the seasons and provide color, texture and perfume for the beholder. She is keen to share with others what she has learned about growing a garden and protecting your landscape from invasive plants.

She is a Master Gardener through the UNH Cooperative Extension Master Gardener program and also earned a UNH certificate in Invasive Species at the Invasives Academy. She is always happy to help you identify invasive species and give you management tips.

Sienna started My New Hampshire Garden by Sienna Larson with the hope of offering tips, tricks and advice for gardeners in all of New Hampshire. Instead of doing the gardening for you, Sienna gives you the knowledge and confidence to help you nurture and grow YOUR New Hampshire garden!

Happy Lulu, my gardening sidekick, in the July garden.
