The Basilica of Sts. Ulrich and Afra in Kreuzlingen is a historical church and former abbey, originally an Augustinian monastery founded around 1125 by Bishop Ulrich I of Konstanz. The church, rebuilt in the Gothic style in the 17th century, features Rococo elements added later and is known for its beautiful interior, including ceiling paintings and a Chapel of the Mount of Olives.
"There were others who were tortured, refusing to be released so that they might gain an even better resurrection.”
- Heb 11,35
This beautiful spot on the way from Constance is not far away from German border. I stopped there in a cold January morning that was warmed by the sun on the shore of the lake. I admired the care with which the parish must take care of the place.
