The favourite pilgrimage place of saint John Paul II. Mikolaj Zebrzydowski founded a calvary and a monastery on the hills that reminded him of those in Jerusalem to commemorate the passion of Christ.
"I belong entirely to you, and all that I have is yours. I take you for my all. O Mary, give me your heart.”
- St John Paul II
Although I believe this can be a really crowded place, we were lucky to catch a morning, an afternoon and an evening when this place was very peaceful and bathing in a relaxing atmosphere. I liked the countryside both times, the plains of Krakow are catching breath here and start opening towards the Tatra mountains.
