ST MARY'S BASILICA

Brick gothic church at the Market place. With its high tower and red silhouette, it is one of the unmistakeable landmarks of Krakow.

We could not miss it. There was some TV interview in front of it, lots of cameras, lights, large podium, some local celebrities. The basilica towers high above the square like a celebrity of its own. Guards and protects the local market halls. You walk past it many times when you explore the city center, see it in the morning light and at the sunset. The locals and the tourists criss cross the square in front of it.
