In this church, St Maxmilian Kolbe led his first service. St Agnes supported its foundation. St Kinga supported its reconstruction. Karol Wojtyla's bishop residence is across the street.
"As Archbishop of Krakow, I lived near a very ancient Franciscan church, and from time to time I went there to pray, to make the "Via Crucis" and to visit the chapel of Our Lady of Sorrows. Unforgettable moments for me! ”
- St John Paul II in Assisi
We passed it a little bit during our stay in Krakow, unfortunately, attracted by the papal window and the statues commemorating the life and visits of John Paul II. Later on, I was surprised to find out this is the place of St Maxmilian Kolbe and the monastery whose foundation was supported by St Agnes of Bohemia.
