The Basilica of Máriapócs, Hungary, is a major Greek Catholic pilgrimage site. It is famous for the weeping icon of the Virgin Mary, first recorded in 1696. The baroque church symbolizes faith, national identity, and enduring spiritual devotion, welcoming pilgrims annually through liturgy, prayer, history, art, tradition, hope, and renewal.
"It was the same love for Christ and his Gospel that made St Basil suffer so much because of the divisions in the Church and made him seek, so perseveringly, hoping against hope for a more effective and manifest communion with all the Churches.”
- St John Paul II
