The pilgrimage church on the top of the hill high above Linz and the Danube river has been a pilgrimage place to the Mater Dolorosa. The baroque church has become a dominant monument on the skyline of Linz.

I saw it many times driving across or along the Danube. We stopped there, however, with our kids, one winter day. The visibility was awesome and the Alps on the horizon brightened up the freezing day.
