I grew up in Pittsburgh, so I basically bleed black and gold. There’s something about the Steel City—the work ethic, the pride, the passion for sports—that gets into your DNA. For me, it sparked a nonstop urge to tell the stories happening on and around the field.
Right now, you’ll find me at Penn State’s Bellisario College of Communications, allegedly studying Broadcast Journalism (and definitely trusting in the process). But let’s be real: the classroom is only part of the story. Ever since I landed my first byline, I’ve been on the hunt for the next story, the next lesson, and the next person willing to share their secret for storytelling.
My motivation? Simple: I love sports — and the people who make them tick — to be seen clearly and talked about honestly. Sure, I cover games, but what I’m really chasing are the stories about effort, sacrifice, momentum, and, yes, the occasional heartbreak (because what’s sports without its drama?). That’s what keeps me coming back for more.
I’ve been lucky enough to work with some absolute legends — editors who turned my drafts into something I’m proud to have my name on and colleagues who made me rethink every story angle. Every opportunity I’ve had has been shaped by those relationships, and I’m grateful for every last one.
I’m the kind of journalist who obsesses over the details — the right word, the right angle, the exact moment to hit send (after reading it twelve times, of course). But I also know journalism isn’t a solo sport. The best stories are built on trust, collaboration, and showing up.
Pittsburgh made me. Penn State is sharpening me. And honestly, I’m just getting started.
