Effective 2 September 2026. Version 1.0
MyINTRY makes two apps: MyINTRY for residents, and MyINTRY Security for gate guards. This page explains what those apps collect and what we do with it. Our services run on intryvms.com.
Section 1: What we collect
Only what the apps need to work.
Both apps collect your name, phone number and email address; the visitor name, phone and purpose of visit that you enter; gate passes and entry logs; and a notification token together with your app version and phone operating system.
The resident app also collects your date of birth, home address and flat number; your profile photo; family members you add; maintenance requests and the photos attached to them; community posts, polls and comments; and amenity bookings, events and bill reminders.
The guard app also collects visitor photos taken at the gate.
Both apps keep a sign-in token on your phone so you stay logged in.
We do not collect your location, contacts, calendar, microphone audio, call history, or any advertising ID. The apps never record video or audio. Neither app takes card, bank or UPI details.
When you invite a visitor or add a family member, you give us their name and number. Please make sure they are happy for you to do that. We use it only to make the pass or household record you asked for.
Section 2: Why we collect it
To let you in and keep others out, using gate passes, QR checks and entry logs. To run your account and keep you signed in. To deliver the features you use, such as maintenance requests, posts, polls, notices, events and bookings. To notify you when a visitor arrives or a request is answered. To keep the community safe and settle disputes about who came to the gate and when. And to meet our legal obligations.
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we rely on the consent you give when you create an account and when you allow each phone permission.
Section 3: Camera, photos and notifications
Your phone asks first. You can turn any of these off later in your phone settings, but the feature will then stop working.
Camera, to photograph a maintenance issue or your profile picture, and at the gate, to scan a pass QR code and photograph a visitor.
Photos, to pick an existing picture instead of taking a new one.
Saving to photos, so the resident app can save a visitor gate pass to your photos and you can send it to your guest even when offline.
Notifications, to alert you when a visitor arrives.
We read a photo only when you pick it. We never scan or upload your photo library in the background.
Section 4: Who can see your data
We do not sell your data, and we never will.
Your community. The management committee and the gate guards see what access control needs, such as your name, unit, household, your visitors and the entry logs. Your posts and poll answers are visible to other residents of your community.
Google Firebase delivers our push notifications. It receives a device token, not your name.
Google Fonts supplies the fonts the apps use, so Google receives your IP address when the app loads them.
Our hosting providers hold the data for us under contract.
Authorities, only where the law requires it, or where it is needed to protect someone's safety.
Neither app contains any advertising, analytics or tracking software. We do not track you across other apps or websites.
Section 5: How we protect it
All traffic between the apps and our servers uses HTTPS with TLS encryption. Your sign-in token is kept in the iOS Keychain or the Android Keystore, not in ordinary files. Only staff who need it can reach production data. Data is stored on servers in India.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your data, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
Section 6: How long we keep it
Account information, for as long as your account is active with your community.
Entry logs, gate passes and visitor photos, for the period your community's management sets for security records, after which they are deleted.
Posts and comments, until you delete them or close your account.
After you close your account, we delete or anonymise your data, keeping only what the law requires us to keep.
Section 7: Your rights
You can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or withdraw consent you gave earlier. You can also nominate someone to do this for you.
To delete your account in the guard app, open Account and tap Delete Account. To delete your account in the resident app, email hello@intry.app from your registered address and we will delete it within 30 days.
Deleting removes your profile, household and posts. Entry logs recording a visit to your community may be kept as security records for the period described in Section 6.
Section 8: Complaints
If you are not happy with how we handled your data, contact our Grievance Officer at hello@intry.app. We must reply within the time the law sets. You can also complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Section 9: Children
These apps are not for children under 18. Accounts are issued only to adult residents and to employed security staff. A parent or guardian may add a child as a household member, and can remove that record at any time.
Section 10: Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page, and we will tell you in the app if the change affects your rights.
Section 11: Contact us
