Day 1 started with the opening ceremony with Laasya Paladugu (Chief of Staff of Design) and Louis Moon (Deputy Secretary General), serving as the MCs. Eunsul Kim, the Secretary General and Founder, gave remarks on how proud and grateful she was of the progress MYI Korea has made and for all of the people involved in the conference. She announced how MYI Korea was involved in the MUN Refugee Challenge by the United Nations High Comissioner of Refugees, and passed the podium to the Guest Speaker, Jen Hyunkyung Laah. Jen Hyunkyung Laah is serving as a Senior Communicates Associate in UNHCR Korea and gave the delegates a brief insight into UNHCR's work. Some of the delegates asked her questions about her experience. 

Committees were introduced one by one, followed by a remark from the Founder of MYI organization, Mihir Vakhariya. Louis Moon banged the gavel, announcing the start of the committee sessions.
