What is the purpose of this app?

This app helps you keep track of My Guarantees items by storing essential information, such as photos of the item and proof of purchase, along with purchase and guarantee details.

How does the app work?

Simply upload a photo of the item, proof of purchase, and enter the purchase date and guarantee length. The app will securely store this information for future reference.

Which iOS do I need?

This app is only available on iPhones running iOS 16.7 or higher. 

Data Management

Can I back up my data?

Yes, you can download your data as a file. This allows you to upload it to another device if needed.

How do I download my data?

Go to the settings menu and select the “Download Data” option. Follow the instructions to save the file to your device.

Can I transfer my data to another device?

Yes, once you’ve downloaded your data file, you can upload it to another device by using the “Import Data” option in the app.

Can I have the data automatically transfer between devices?

No this option is not currently available, but may become an option for purchase in future releases.

Privacy and Security

Is my data stored securely?

Yes, all your data is stored locally on your device and is not shared with third parties. Due to the nature of the data it is not encrypted other than any standard encryption used by your device.

Does the app store my data online?

No, your data is stored locally on your device. If you back up your data, it will be saved as a file on your device, or chosen storage location.

Usage

How do I add a new item?

Click the “Add Item” button, upload photos of the item and proof of purchase, and enter the purchase date and guarantee length.

Can I edit an existing item?

Yes, select the item from your list and click the “Edit” button to update its details or photos.

Can I delete an item?

Yes, you can delete an item by selecting it and pressing the “Delete” button. Be aware that this action cannot be undone.

Troubleshooting

I lost my phone. Can I recover my data?

If you backed up your data using the “Download Data” option, you can recover it by importing the saved file on a new device.

Why can’t I upload photos?

Ensure the app has permission to access your device’s photos or camera. Check your device settings to enable permissions.

What file formats are supported for backups?

The app generates a standard backup zip file that can be imported into another device running the app.

Does the app remind me when a guarantee is about to expire?

Currently, the app does not provide reminders. You can manually check guarantee details in the app at any time.

Is the app free?

No, to cover the cost of development there is a small upfront charge. After purchase the app is free to use for as long as you own it (or until technological advances make the app obsolete), with all features included.
