Child Protection Refresher is designed for educators who wish to refresh their knowledge, stay up to date with any recent changes or information with governance, strategies, policies and procedures. These can be utilized in the Early Childhood/School Environment through your practices as an Early Childhood/Education Support professional.
Time: 2 hours
Each participant is responsible for claiming credit only for the actual hours of attendance. It is designed to assist the participant in demonstrating up-to-date knowledge of a previously studied topic. Refresher training is relevant to demonstrate compliance with Regulation 84 and Quality Area 2 (Element 2.2.3).
NOTE:
This refresher course is created for professionals working with children and young persons who have completed the Child Protection Unit (CHCPRT001 – Identify and respond to children and young people at risk).
Unit of Competency: Nil - This is non-accredited Child Protection Refresher Training only.
Course Outcome: When you have completed this training competently, all paticipants will receive a Certificate of Participation for Child Protection Refresher Training.

Course content:
Understand the type of abuse
Report indications of possible of Risk of Harm (ROH)
eReporting using Mandatory Reporter Guide (MRG)
Implement work practices which support the protection of children and young people
Apply ethical and nurturing practices in working with children and young people
Assessment Requirements: N/A
What to bring:
Photo identification e.g. driver’s licence, passport, photo card
Blue/black pen
Be on scheduled start time or arrive 10-15 minutes earlier
Understand the different type of abuse.
Report indications of possible risk of harm.
Implement work practices which support the protection of children & young people.
Apply ethical and nurturing practices in work with children and young people.
The content is divided into various learning components that cover updates of recent changes, how it may affect or help you at work, refresh your mind of what child abuse and recognizing and responding to signals/symptoms of abuse and the rule and the responsibilities as professionals and mandatory reporters.
