Mycologist. Zoologist. Ecologist.

My research interests are focused on wildlife diseases from the fungal perspective. This includes understanding a fungal pathogen's host range, its basic physiology, the fungal mechanisms allowing for infection to occur, and investigating the conditions that may transition a fungus into a pathogenic state. Check out my Research page for more detailed information.

Traditionally trained as a Zoologist, I have always loved learning about the ecological impact of wildlife diseases. Upon entering the world of mycology as a novice, I quickly found an additional passion for fungi and followed that passion to graduate school. I stepped into a completely different field in pursuing a path to combine my two passions, leading me to a doctorate in botany and fungal physiology.

In my journey to work with fungal pathogens, I've been able to use my skills as a professional artist and as an advocate for community engaged scholarship to bridge a more holistic understanding of how integral fungi are to our society and bring awareness around infectious fungal diseases.
