With over 26 years of nursing experience, including 17 years devoted to hospice care and 14 as a nurse practitioner, I have had the profound honor of being by the side of individuals and their families during life’s most vulnerable moments. My Master’s degree in Nursing and Palliative Medicine has deepened my insight into the complexities surrounding end-of-life care, and I have witnessed firsthand the healing power of compassionate support during these challenging times.
As the founder of My Way End of Life Doula Services, my goal is to empower individuals and families to navigate this journey with dignity and peace. My role as a doula is to provide emotional, practical, and spiritual support. I believe that everyone deserves a gentle and respectful end-of-life experience, and I am committed to walking alongside you on this path.
I've had experience with children after working at Angela Hospice in Livonia, Michigan with their "My Nest is Best" program. Throughout my experience in pediatric hospice care, I have had the opportunity to walk alongside families as they face the harrowing challenges of caring for their seriously ill children. Each journey is unique and heart-wrenching, filled with a blend of hope, love, and profound sadness. I have also worked closely with parents who endure the unimaginable pain of prenatal loss, providing them with compassionate support and guidance as they navigate the emotional landscape of learning that their unborn child has a life-limiting condition. It is a deeply moving experience to help families find moments of connection, solace, and understanding during such a difficult time in their lives
As a death doula, I am acutely aware of the unique challenges faced by marginalized communities, including African Americans and the LGBTQ+ community, especially in the context of end-of-life care. Many individuals in these groups have experienced systemic biases and discrimination within traditional healthcare settings, often leading to feelings of distrust and alienation. My mission is to bridge that gap by providing compassionate, culturally competent support that honors each individual’s identity and experiences.
I offer compassionate end-of-life care for individuals who are healing from family traumas, working to break generational curses, and dealing with the emotional complexities of estrangement. With my own personal experiences in navigating estrangement and breaking generational cycles, I am deeply committed to providing support and understanding during this significant journey, helping each individual find their way toward peace and resolution
Whether you're seeking companionship, assistance with decision-making, or simply someone to listen, I am here to offer unwavering support. Your journey is unique, and I approach each individual with empathy and respect. I'm eager to accompany you on your special journey!
