All my bills are up to date and I spent about an hour last night chatting with a vodafone rep , who assured me that he knew what the issue is and "it would be fixed in 3 minutes", and to "rest assured" etc. He told me to turn my phone off and on again and try to make a call. When that didn't work he asked me to turn off automatic network selection then turn it on again. When that didn't work I tried putting the SIM in another phone. That didn't work either.

There was a very similar thread exactly the same as yours written at the end of September this year here: -queries/vodafone-ireland-roaming-suddenly-stopped-working/td... only the linked thread acquired a strange link and was marked as spam. You must be having a long holiday.
