My Nissan (“the App”) is developed as an open-source, passion-driven application to help users monitor and control their electric vehicles. We respect
your privacy and are committed to protecting any information handled by the App.

My Nissan is an independent, third-party application.
The App is not affiliated with, authorized, sponsored, endorsed, or in any way officially connected to Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., or any of its subsidiaries or affiliates. All official vehicle communications are routed securely through public APIs, but the App is entirely unofficial.

We believe in absolute data minimization. The App collects only the minimal information required to perform its core functions: interacting with your vehicle’s remote capabilities.
A. Authentication Credentials & Tokens
• What we handle: OAuth 2.0 Access Tokens and Refresh Tokens.
• Why: To authenticate requests made on your behalf to the official Nissan Kamereon servers.
• How it is handled: These tokens are strictly used to communicate with the official Nissan API. They are never sent to the developer or any unauthorized third party.
B. Vehicle & Telemetry Data
• What we handle: Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), battery level, estimated range, climate control status, and vehicle GPS location.
• Why: To display your car’s current charge, climate state, and current location on the App dashboard.
• How it is handled: This telemetry data is pulled dynamically from the official Nissan API and displayed directly on your device.
C. Personalization & Images
• What we handle: The custom vehicle photo you take or upload to personalize your dashboard.
• Why: To serve as a personalized visual background.
• How it is handled: Your vehicle photo is stored exclusively in your device’s local internal application storage. It is never uploaded, shared, or processed externally.

We take security seriously and utilize platform-best practices to safeguard your data:
• Local-Only Storage: All sensitive data—including authentication tokens, search destination history, and your vehicle’s VIN—is stored locally on your device.
• Encryption: The App utilizes Android’s secure EncryptedSharedPreferences to ensure your access tokens and credentials are encrypted at rest on the system level, protecting them from unauthorized reading by other applications.
• No External Servers: The developer does not operate any remote servers, databases, or cloud infrastructure. Your data stays entirely in your hands.

To provide vehicle integration and search functionalities, the App communicates with the following external services:
Nissan Kamereon APIs (Official)
• Purpose: To log in, fetch battery statistics, query location, and trigger remote commands (such as climate control).
• Data Sent: Your OAuth credentials and your vehicle’s VIN.
• Privacy: Subject to Nissan’s Official Privacy Policy https://www.nissan-global.com/.
OpenStreetMap / Nominatim API
• Purpose: To look up address suggestions when you search for destination coordinates on the dashboard to send to your vehicle.
• Data Sent: The search query strings you type. No account or credentials are shared.
• Privacy: Subject to the OpenStreetMap Foundation Privacy Policy https://wiki.osmfoundation.org/wiki/Privacy_Policy.

• No Analytics: The App contains no tracking, telemetry trackers, or crash-reporting SDKs (such as Firebase Analytics, Google Analytics, or Mixpanel) that capture your behavior.
• No Advertisements: The App is completely ad-free and contains no advertising networks or trackers.

The App does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children. If you are a
parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal info, please contact us.

Because all your data is stored locally on your own device, you have complete control over it at all times:
• Export or View: You can inspect your vehicle credentials and info directly inside the App settings.
• Dejection / Deletion: You can completely wipe all credentials, settings, and personal photos at any time by simply clearing the App’s storage in your Android System Settings or uninstalling the App.
