In education, a higher proportion of adolescent girls are in school than ever before in Sub-Saharan Africa, but the percentage of those who complete secondary education is still dismally low at 42%.

Women are underrepresented in decision-making at all levels worldwide. As of September 2023, 28 women serve as Heads of State and/or Government in 26 countries, with 15 countries having a woman Head of State, and 16 countries having a woman Head of Government. Women make up 26.5 per cent of Members of Parliament, and less than one in four Cabinet Ministers is a woman.
