Manitoba eXperimental Mathematics Laboratory
About
The Manitoba eXperimental Mathematics Laboratory (MXML) is a platform for cooperative undergraduate research experiences! Students will work together with faculty and graduate students at the University of Manitoba to explore and share mathematical ideas, as well as forming a community of learners.
Undergraduate students participating in the MXML will register in the course MATH 4920; the final grade will be based on a final report, a public group presentation, among other things.
Axioms
We are guided by Federico Ardila’s four axioms:
Axiom 1. Mathematical potential is equally present in different groups, irrespective of geographic, demographic, and economic boundaries.
Axiom 2. Everyone can have joyful, meaningful, and empowering mathematical experiences.
Axiom 3. Mathematics is a powerful, malleable tool that can be shaped and used differently by various communities to serve their needs.
Axiom 4. Every student deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.
