I would like to know how to play media (audio and video) files that are located in a folder and its subfolders using Windows.I don't want to create a music libraries first. I simply want to click on a media file, have a player start playing it and continue with the next files in that folder and subfolders. Is there any solution?

If you use VLC-MediaPlayer you can simply right click on the folder where the media files are and select "Play with VLC" or something like this. This action selects all media files within the folder and its subfolders.

MSC mode is the original tried-and-true system, in which your player is seen like storage, just like a USB flash drive. MTP mode, the newer system developed by Microsoft, is a bit different (but similar in operation for the user) and often is needed for DRM (digital rights management) -protected files; unfortunately, it can be glitchy, sometimes.

The trick, now: your computer can only see and show the files on your player that had been transferred to the player under the mode that you then are connected to your player under. To see the other files, you would need to disconnect, switch the USB mode on your player, and reconnect.

Ultimately I think what I need is to be able to set the player ownership permission at the folder level opposed to the article so I can give them a "Party Notes" folder and let them create and manage their own notes people, places, quests etc within that folder.

Here is what I did: I logged into the Ignition gateway, opened the Designer on the gateway, and created a new Mounted Folder inside the WebDev module. I clicked Browse, browsed to a folder that is mapped (from another server), accepted the default name, and clicked OK. This resulted in a path like Y:/TestFolder. I went back to my local dev machine, opened the same project and copied the Mounted Path in the newly created Mounted Folder; something like /system/webdev//.

While another user shared a music folder with me and I am able to play all the files in the audio player, I can tell that audio player is supporting that. No limitation there.

Did you check that there is no hidden file (I think it should be named .nomedia or .noaudio or something like that), that tells the audio player to not search in that folder for music files?

(For information : I use the share option of the folder instead of sharing with external storage because I want to share it in readonly mode. By the way, I tried to share this way (i.e. directly from the folder) with the permission to modify : I had the same issue.)

I experience the same problem. If I share a folder the other users can see and play the files individually but scanning of the share does not work. Files are found but none included .

If I make the share writable it works fine.

Folders on a file share that I, as a user, never opened yet, do not get imported in the audio player. After opening the artist folder in the file manager (my folder structure is music/[artist]/[album]/[song].mp3), it will get imported.

In your case, someone shared a folder but only his user-id has the entries in the filecache.

As as soon as you enter the folder, NC will index the folder and then add the entries to the filecache.

the only way to get around this in an automated way is to use the

I host a kodi instance on the network. I dont mind playing a folder of files using kodi. If possible I would like to avoid creating a playlist. Because I can simply add music to a folder rather than accessing a playlist, editing it, etc. for all of which I need to access the kodi GUI too. Any pointers for the same?

Turn your Home Assistant instance into a jukebox, hassle free streaming of your favorite media to Home Assistant media players. - GitHub - music-assistant/hass-music-assistant: Turn your Home Assis...

Yes, all media players discovered are on but playback to all of them fails. So I think it has to do with something on the configuration side of music assistant. When I press play, my Kodi player is shaken out of the screensaver, so I know there is some attempt. But nothing plays.

Good afternoon. I only use folder hierarchy. I'm basically have the exact same folder hierarchy local on my PC where I also move songs from folder to another one. Then I'm using the software freefilesync to synchronize between local folders and folders on my Android device.

Now, let's say I accidentally added a song to wrong folder. Is there a way within the Poweramp to move the song to another folder? This would be a great way to organize the songs, and after a while using freefilesync to synchronize it. If this is possible I would like to request it

No, Poweramp is not a file manager, it does not offer copy/move/rename/new_folder/etc functionality. You can however delete a file once it is finished with - useful for things you only want to listen to once, such as podcasts etc. But rather like batch tag manipulation, I suspect that heavily extending the file management features is probably rather beyond the scope of a music player.

I am using Ubuntu 12.04 and am looking for a music player (banshee, rhythmbox or other) which can display the music files and folders as-is and not organized by artist/album/genre or some other field. I tried out banshee and rhythmbox and could not figure how to.

I am having a weird thing happen in the Roku media Player. I like to view videos/folders because I know what I want to watch and am trying to go to the folder it's in. When I pull up the folder, things in other folders appear, sometimes in a jumbled order. For instance, I want to watch the tv show, law and order. So I go to the law and order folder. I am presented with a list of folders that have seasons. I choose season 5. When it loads season 5 episodes, it has files for Cheers, Back to the Future 1 or other shows, but Law and Order is nowhere on the list.

I'm not sure if thats what your asking for, but it's a standard structure. Roku Media Player should only be reading what is in that particular folder and listing them as such. It's reading folders outside of the Name of TV Show layer folder...

Roku media player calls directly from a network attached storage and as long as there is plenty of internal bandwidth for the router to take all the loads, it plays smoothly whether the computer is running or even turned off, as computers need to be from time to time.

So you want to know where Flash Cookies are stored? It's at %APPDATA%\Macromedia\Flash Player\#SharedObjects (%APPDATA% being the environment variable that points to your Application Data folder).

I can't seem to get an answer on the better privacy forum, but if it says to not have the flash files in sys 32, the target for the addon that i have tried to use links to the app data roaming, not the sys32 win folder, so i am seeing they say to reinstall this to another party, if that's the case i need to also.

I have 1 PC with Windows 10 Pro 64bit on which I have installed VMware Workstation 17 Player. I've virtually installed Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS. I configured the shared folder on Workstation 17 Player but Linux doesn't see it. When I'm on Linux I go to 'Other locations / Windows Network', then 'loading' appears and at the end I don't see the shared folder or the files contained in the shared folder. I tried to change the network type (only host, nat, etc...), tried all the combinations but it didn't solve. Why is it so difficult to share a folder with the host system?

Also, sharing folders via Workstation's shared folders mechanism does not use Windows SMB file sharing or NFS. It uses a different mechanism that isn't considered as a network by the Ubuntu "Files" application. That's that's why you won't see them under "Other Locations/Windows Network". Workstation even if the system is configured with the workaround.

When the recommended persistent workaround is in place, you will find your shared folders mounted under /mnt/hgfs in the VM. Use the Files application to navigate there. You may want to put a shortcut in the Files application in order to get there more quickly in the future.

Thanks for the text. I didn't know that you have to write code on Ubuntu.

If you look at the pdf I posted above you see the location of my Windows 10 Pro folder (D:\SERVER).

I ran the following commands on my Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS system and got some errors. I can't find any folder in /mnt.

Still, I have an issue: Synchron Player doesn't propose me the customized instruments I made, which are all located on an SSD drive in a User folder (and which is located on the same SSD drive on which are all my samples). Although I showed Synchron Player the path where to find them. Yesterday, after many tries, they appeared, but this morning they won't show again.

And what will happen when I will work back on my old computer? I'm afraid he won't be able to find my user folder anymore (as now the path field is changed), I will have to create a new one, following the same process (first moving away the rows of folders and sub-folders, asking Synchron player to create a new user, hoping it will create the same path field, then pasting my presets folders, etc.)?

I also just realized-horror-by creating the folder for the Synchron user presets the process had erased my VIP presets folder, which was on the same folder... I could find it in the bin and copy it straight, and reinstalled it, but I was closed from losing many hours of work...

You create a folder called "Vienna Synchron Player" that contains exactly the same structure as in the attached pic, and you set the Preset path to the parent folder, in my case: /Users/paul/Documents

I've just noticed an odd problem with Quicktime. When I click on the app to open, it literally opens the desktop folder and not the Quicktime app. Furthermore, when I try to play a file through Quicktime it says that Quicktime cannot be opened. Essentially, I can't access Quicktime at all. 2351a5e196
