Weekly Tips and Tricks List to help you plan your wedding
Tip 1
When planning your hair and makeup schedule, make sure you’re placed in the middle of the order. For a 2pm ceremony, aim to have your hair and makeup finished by 12pm. This gives you time to relax before getting dressed and ensures that if anything runs behind, you’re not the one delayed.
Tip 2
Plan a little time just for you and your partner. The day flies by and everyone will want a moment with you. Taking the last 15 minutes of your drinks reception for some alone time is a lovely way to catch up on the morning, soak in the excitement and enjoy a quiet moment together. If you change your mind on the day, that’s completely fine – simply stay and enjoy your drinks reception.
Tip 3
Those cute handheld fans you see couples leaving on ceremony seats are worth every penny. Guests get warm while waiting for the aisle moment, especially at a summer ceremony in the midday sun, and these always get used.
Tip 4
Check your venue’s confetti policy. Some only allow dried or fresh petals for eco-friendly reasons or to protect the grounds. If you’re worried dried petals won’t give you enough impact, add a couple of dried flower confetti cannons for your wedding party to use during the confetti shot for an extra pop.
Tip 5
Appoint a confident friend or family member to help with group photos. Your photographer won’t know who everyone is, so having someone who can call people over or recognise who’s needed will speed up the process and give you more time to enjoy your drinks reception.
Tip 6
Choose a photographer who understands your priorities. You may not want to spend most of your drinks reception taking group photos or endless couple portraits. Talk to your photographer beforehand so they know exactly what you want. The right photographer will capture the day as it unfolds, without making it feel staged or taking you away from the celebration for too long.
