Thank you to the members that turned out for the working bee. We got a lot done.
Finally connected travelling irrigator to riser (nearest tanks) and tested. It worked well and correctly shut down after it reached the end of its travel. We think we can cover the full length of the runway in two sections. Will need to build some kind of reel for the long (and heavy) hose to make more manageable.
Repaired flattened (by wind) pilot box and affixed more star stakes to prevent reoccurrence
Pulled off damaged bunting from pilot boxes (to be replaced with chicken wire which will be more resilient)
Connected bore water to the container (fed by pump attached to middle main tank) so that there is an external tap
Assessed leaking portaloo (the flush water). Needs more attention.
A lot of mowing (runway, pits, near pond)
Whipper snipping, including around the pumps
Pulled the muffler (has a big hole in it) off the zero-turn mower to re-fabricate
Power was also connected to the storage shed and container (a couple of weeks back)
Enjoyed sausages!
Syd maidened his new plane successfully.
