August 2023 - Visit to Scrap Yard

Along with Dr. Sabih, we visited a scrap yard to procure some pipe samples for our NDT lab at ARCMST.

2022 - AI Competition

This is from my participation with other colleagues in a Global Machine Learning Competition. We won Gold Medal and were also featured on our department's website.

2022 - Participation in 5MD - IAHR

I participated in a 5 Minute Defence (5MD) competition (similar to 3MT) organized by IAHR (Chapter Hong Kong), held at HK PolyU. Although I got a bit upset due to poor management and their evaluation criteria, it was a memorable experience. 

2022 - Field Testing -  Beacon Hill Testing Facility of Smart UWSS

Flushing the system to remove entrapped air before conducting experiments... the pressure was around 3 bars...had to make use of my weight :-D

2022 - Field Visit - Q Leak (Hong Kong)

A dedicated testing site for emerging leak detection technologies under real-field environment

2022 - Field Experiments with Prof. Bruno Brunone & Prof. Silvia Meniconi

Conducted hydraulic transients experiments in a 700mm diameter transmission main

2021 - We said Good By to Dr. Tong-Chuan Chi

Dr. Tong-Chuan Chi (we call him Tony) joined our group for a year as a Post-doc and then He got a faculty position in Hohai University (Mainland China). An amazing guy. Do checkout his website. 

2021 - We went Hiking

Hiking is one of the most memorable activities I could remember from my stay in Hong Kong. I hiked multiple times and with different group of people. It was always so refreshing.

2020 - We went for Cycling

We discovered that there is a cycling track next to Tseung Kwan O Riverside and it has amazing scenic views. So we went there a couple of time. In the picture, from left:  Dr. Ather Mansoor, Myself, Dr. Rana Rabnawaz and Dr. Husnain Qazi.

2020 - The Eid & Covid-19 

It was the era of Covid-19 and we were stuck in Hong Kong. We prayer Eid ul Adha in our dorm and had Biryani in Dinner. Along with me (from left) Myself, Dr. Husnain Qazi, Dr. Rana Ahmed, and my brother Usman.
