Today, the conditions at the schools and the surrounding areas are deplorable and are in need of immediate renovation. The schools are infested with black mold, the roofs no longer provide protection from the rain, and the perimeter fences are gone (being torn from the ground by the hurricane).
The school's roof is missing entire boards which cause the roof to leak during storms or rain showers.
In other spots, entire parts of the roof were blown off by the wind.
Surrounding fences were destroyed by the wind, allowing local livestock to frequently wander on to the school’s property.
Through the MVABL "One Love Golf Classic", we aim to raise money to help these schools rebuild in Jamaica and allow students access to much needed educational supplies so they can continue to foster their desire to learn.
In spite of going to school in a building that would be condemned in the US, they show up each day ready to learn.
