Muzhi Han

I'm a fifth-year Ph.D. candidate at UCLA, working on robotics and computer vision. Currently, I'm working at Center for Vision, Cognition, Learning, and Autonomy (VCLA), advised by Prof. Song-chun Zhu. Before coming to UCLA, I graduated from Tsinghua University with a B.E. in Elite Program of Mechanical Engineering.

My Ph.D. research goal is to develop general-purpose cognitive robots that: (i) perceive and understand 3D unstructured environments in an structured way, and (ii) learn generalizable representations and knowledge for long-horizon manipulation tasks. Recently, I also explored leveraging foundation models (LLMs, VLMs) to tackle fundamental challenges in robotics.

During my Ph.D., I'm fortunate to conduct research at Meta Reality Lab Research and Amazon Lab126, working on cutting-edge research projects in machine perception and 3D reconstruction.
