"The Legend of the Blue Sea" is a story about a mermaid who falls in love with a human. This story is a love story of a con artist and a mermaid who goes across the ocean just to find him. 

Based on a legendary "Joseon legend" about a fisherman who captures and releases a mermaid from Korea's earliest collection of unofficial historical tales.

A Joseon-era mermaid who, after saving Dam-Ryeong as a little boy, falls in love with him; Dam-Ryeong gives her the name Se-Hwa in memory of his late sister. Se-Hwa erases his memories since, at first, they are unable to be together because of his forced marriage and her incapacity to become an adult before turning her tail into legs. When the two cross paths again, they suffer a terrible fate together, which starts the first omen that will link their rebirths. 

The genres of this drama are fantasy, comedy, and romance. It was filmed in South Korea by Jin Hyuk and Park Seon-Ho. There were twenty episodes and was released on November 16 2016.
