Grapevine Public Library Robotics Workshops
Over the summer of 2023, before the CENTERSTAGE season, we continued our partnership with the Grapevine Public Library to host summer robotics workshops every other week for 2 months. Over the course of the workshop, kids built robots and programming them for various tasks and challenges, such as pressing buttons on the robot to drive various distances and move an attachment. We mainly guided the building and programming processes, and helped the kids out whenever necessary, but the kids themselves were very motivated and had fun with it.
After the close of the CENTERSTAGE season, in the summer of 2024, we hosted more workshops with the Grapevine Public Library in the same format. It was very rewarding helping kids learn more about programming and building robots! Like with last year, we used EV3 Mindstorms robots.
2023 FLYSET Workshop
We cohosted the 2023 9th annual FLYSET FTC Workshop with 2022 Team USA 8565 Technicbots. In this workshop, various World Championship teams, college robotics teams, and companies from around the globe discussed their robotics and engineering experiences and gave technical classes on robot hardware and software for FTC. All recordings from the workshop are available on the Technicbots 8565 YouTube channel!
Elementary & Middle School Visits
In November 2023, our team organized a visit to Colleyville ES; later in the year, in May, our team further expanded these school visits to Bransford ES, Silverlake ES, OC Taylor ES, and Heritage MS. We gave a presentation to to educate young students about FTC Robotics and spread awareness of our team, and we also demonstrated our FTC robot Pepper Jack, flew drones, and drove Spheros. We let the students have their share of fun with the technology as well :)
