Joe Lenkart is the Head of Slavic Reference Service, a dedicated year-round research service for REEES scholars. He is an Associate Professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His research interests include ethnic and religious minorities; ethnic press; history of publishing; and global diasporas. He is the co-founder of the Doctoral Research Support Program and the Global Diasporas Program at the University of Illinois. He also serves as the co-director for the Central Asia Research Cluster and the Muslim Lives project.
Eva Rogaar is a cultural and cultural historian of modern Eurasia and the Muslim world. She earned her PhD in History from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (2022), with her research project on Russian Muslim converts between the 1970s-present. She is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Amsterdam, within the ERC-funded team project "Building a Better Tomorrow: Development Knowledge and Practice in Central Asia and Beyond, 1970-2017." Her main research interests include ethnic and religious minorities; oral and life histories; public history; gender studies; and history of science and medicine in colonial and postcolonial contexts. Aside from co-organizing the Muslim Lives project, she is a co-director for the Central Asia Research Cluster and for the Writing Across Boundaries program.
