Many inner-city schools are impacted by budget constraints leading to millions of students without access to music education.  Additionally, many students who do have access to music education cannot afford the musical instrument.  

Studies have shown that a lack of music education can lead to lower levels of creativity, emotional expression, and cognitive development.

Teachers have reported an increase in academic engagement and an improvement in social-emotional skills in students who gained access to music education.
