Music Lessons with Melisa

Hello! My name is Melisa! I am a middle school band director with a total of 6 years of experience. Some of those years were also spent teaching elementary general music and chorus. I have bachelors degrees in music education and flute performance as well as a master's degree in music education.  

My goal is to teach students a lifelong appreciation and enjoyment of music.  I want to make music fun and yet challenging.

I am just beginning to start teaching privately in Texas after a 3 year break but of course I have been teaching publicly in that time.  I will teach students from as early as age 4 to adults.  

I work with beginners as well as transfer students.  I teach beginner through collegiate level flute. I also teach beginner/intermediate clarinet, saxophone and trombone. I do not teach trumpet, baritone and tuba. Lastly, I teach beginning through advanced music theory.

Weekly private lessons are conducted at my apartment at Prose Champions, 6701 FM 1960 Rd W, Houston, Tx 77066 or at your home on a one on one basis.  Private lessons are offered during the weekdays and Saturdays.  If you are interested in taking lessons, please contact me for a free preview lesson. My availibility is Monday and Friday 5:15pm-8:15pm, Tuesday through Thursday 6:15pm-8:15pm, and Saturday 8am-8pm.

Music lessons are $30 for 30 mins or $60 for one hour. *If you would like me to travel to your home there will be an extra $7 fee.

Lessons are offered both in person as well as online. Lesson area at my home is cleaned between students. Student must wait in car until I wave for him/her to come in for lesson. Parent/Guardian will be admitted during his/her lesson if they want.
