The Canadian Music Class Challenge is a nationwide contest sponsored by the CBC and MusiCounts each year to promote the exploration and celebration of Canadian talent in music rooms all across Canada.

Each year the CBC releases a list of songs eligible to be covered as a part of this challenge. They invite music teachers all across the country to have their students learn and perform a Canadian song from that list. It is a great opportunity for practical, engaging learning, as well as providing schools a chance to win prize funds for their programs.

This song, written by the Youth of Fort Erie in partnership with Shawnee Kish, Teach Native Culture, and CBC Music, is sung partly in English and Mohawk.
It will be sung by our intermediates (Division 1-6).
The video introduces the piece, teaches pronunciation, and then finishes with a full performance of the song from Shawnee Kish.
