On most evenings, you can find live music happening in Shoreline, whether it's a formal performance at a regular venue like North City Bistro or Darrell's, or a casual sit-in group of locals in a place like The Little Store or the Cabin.
You can find a rich history of music in Shoreline, too, through the legendary studios that anchored here. Take a tour of London Bridge Studio, or enroll in the Robert Lang Studios Academy to learn about audio production.
Shoreline is also home to the largest live jazz festival that happens in one evening, called the North City Jazz Walk. Multiple stages set up over several blocks in the North City business district of Shoreline, this festival has been running for a whopping 13 years.
Music is big for our youth, as well. The Shoreline School District has a robust music program, starting for students in 5th grade. Music is an option for kids through high school, where they have the opportunity to play in orchestras and bands that travel to perform in places like Carnegie Hall, Dublin, and Disneyland.
For four years, Shoreline hosted a competition called Youth Jam, hosted first as a small event, and concluded on a stage at the Shoreline Community College. See the article in Patch and Shoreline Area News for more details.
