Museum Workers Speak Listening Session (July 22, 2020)

Museum Workers Speak Listening Session

Wednesday, July 22, 7pm Eastern

From when Museum Workers Speak launched our campaign on May 12 to today, we have exceeded our $50,000 fundraising goal and, simultaneously, the museum field has transformed. From a wave of open letters to anonymous social media accounts to crowdsourcing data to collective action to the Death to Museums convening, museum workers have spoken more loudly than ever before. And our momentum is growing quickly.

Where do we go from here?

Where does Museum Workers Speak fit into the landscape of actions that are currently taking place?

Just as Museum Workers Speak started in 2015 with a rogue session inviting museum workers to speak openly about the injustices within our field, we are once again creating a collective space for listening to museum workers.

Beyond financial support from the relief fund, what does mutual aid look like?

How do we care for each other?

What are our assets in this space?

What do we need to build?

What do you envision as the next action item for Museum Workers Speak?

Who should be the co-conspirators and collaborators?
