Early Life and Education

Raised in a village of 300 families where educational opportunities were scarce, he was born to parents engaged in farming and religious music. He faced substantial socio-economic challenges as one of ten children, yet he was always eager to learn and succeed. His education commenced in government schools, supplemented by involvement in his father's religious ceremonies, which enriched his cultural and ethical understanding.

He furthered his education at Loyola College in Vijayawada, where he pursued pre-university studies. His quest for knowledge led him to Andhra University, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy. His academic ambitions didn't stop there; he achieved a Master’s in Biochemical Engineering and Pharmaceutical Technology, laying a solid educational foundation for his future career.

Career

He started his professional life with an internship at Hoechst in Mumbai, gaining hands-on experience in manufacturing and laboratory roles. This initial role was followed by a position at Bharat Salt and Chemicals in Orissa, marking the beginning of his professional ascent. In 1977, seeking broader horizons, he moved to the United States, bringing nothing but a vision and determination.

In the U.S., he began his career in entry-level positions, quickly advancing through the ranks in companies such as PurePack (now Teva) and Barr Labs. By 1978, he had become a production manager at ICN Pharmaceuticals. Demonstrating his entrepreneurial spirit, he founded Able Labs in 1984, navigating the industry's challenges to achieve approvals for significant products like generic Tranxene tablets and Monistat suppositories.

Since 2003, he has been an advisor to KVK Tech, leveraging his extensive experience to guide the company in developing and manufacturing affordable, FDA-approved medications.

Philanthropic Initiatives

Parallel to his professional achievements, his commitment to philanthropy has been equally profound. He founded the Satyaram Health Clinic, which provides accessible healthcare to rural communities in India at a minimal cost. His philanthropic reach extended to the U.S., where he contributed to constructing a Hindu temple in Bridgewater, New Jersey. In 1989, he supported the University of Kentucky's Department of Pharmacy by funding positions for post-doctoral scholars, thereby advancing pharmaceutical research.
