What is Basic Obedience?
Basic Obedience training consists of learning Sit, Lay, Stay, Leave it, Wait, Re-call, Leash work. We will also try and meet at locations such as Atwood, Tractor Supply, Pet Co, Pet Smart, City Parks and possibly even pet friendly restaurants. Meeting at these locations will allow us to desensitize the dog. Desenitization is important as you may wish to take your dog to pet friendly stores, venues, restruants, family gatherings and more. What will desensitizeation include? Not shying away or being aggressive to strangers. Okay with being pet or messing with IE Paws, ears ,tail.
What are tricks?
If your pet has went through Basic Obedience or knows basic obedience this is where we teach you and them how to preform entertainment or purpuseful tricks. Tricks can include, Paw, Shake, Bump, Find, and more. Many of these are great for grooming, showing off and more.
What does my training look like?
First, while yes i call myself a trainer, I don't train the dog for you. On day one/hour one, I get to know you and your dog while you both get to know me. We will see what we know so far, learn temperaments, test and get to know tools, learn more about what's to come.
On day two or hour two, once we have dressed the dog, we start with sit and leash work. During that time I help you teach them how to sit with and without the help of a tool, or being harsh.
Day or hour three, we go over and look for improvement in leash work and sit on command. once that is over, we work on lay and stay.
Day four/ hour four, we go over week 2 and 3. after warm up we then add the new tasks Recall and wait.
This goes on until tasks are learned or the package has ran out.
What does my dog walking look like?
For each client we will discuss a plan for me to access the house/property, me and your dog will up to 1 mile. If they are high energy or I visit twice a day, they will get up to 2 miles.
I do separate walks as I do have a service animal so I only have 4 time slots available morning and 2 times available in the evening
Those times are 08:00-11:00Am and 08:00-09:00Pm.
What should you get?
I recommend packages for puppy owners or rescue/shelter dog owners. These will give you and your dog a unrushed training regimine that overall allows you both to work at your own pace.
I recommend hourly for those who need a few adjustments but otherwise good.
I recommend my group sessions for those who live an active life style or would like to get the information and go on.
I recommend Dog walking visits for those with puppies, high energy breeds, or low activity lifesyles (for any reason).
