This document is written to be clear and complete. It is a template drafted for a Families-designed Android puzzle game with contextual advertising, in-app purchases and subscriptions. It is not legal advice; before publishing you should have it reviewed by a qualified professional, especially because the app is directed to children and processes real-money purchases.
Welcome to Murder Sudoku ("the Game", "we", "us", "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the Game collects, how it is used and shared, and the rights you have. It applies to all users of Murder Sudoku on Android devices distributed through the Google Play Store.
By downloading, installing or using Murder Sudoku, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with it, please do not use the Game.
Murder Sudoku is designed to be enjoyed by players of all ages, including children under 13. Because of this, we operate the Game under child-directed rules at all times (see Section 9).
We do not ask for or collect your name, email, phone number or precise location.
We show non-personalised, child-directed ads only (Google AdMob).
Purchases and subscriptions are handled entirely by Google Play Billing; we never see your card details.
Your progress, coins, hints, collectible cards and settings are stored on your device, not on our servers.
We do not sell or trade your data, and we do not build advertising profiles.
The rest of this document explains each point in detail.
We collect a limited set of data needed to run the Game, show ads and process purchases. We do not collect directly identifying personal information.
The Game uses Google AdMob to show advertisements (including interstitial and rewarded ads). Because the Game is available to children, AdMob is configured for child-directed treatment, which disables personalised advertising. In this mode, AdMob may process:
A device identifier used only for frequency capping and fraud/abuse prevention (not for behavioural targeting).
Approximate location derived from IP address (for ad delivery and legal compliance), not stored long-term by us.
Device type, operating-system version and language (to render compatible ads).
Ad events such as impressions, clicks and load times.
Network type (Wi-Fi or mobile data).
AdMob is a Google service governed by Google's Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
The Game offers optional in-app purchases (e.g. removing ads, star packs, hint packs, card packs, the starter bundle) and auto-renewing subscriptions (e.g. the VIP Pass and the ×2 Stars subscription). All payments are processed exclusively through Google Play Billing. We do not receive, store or process your payment-card information.
We (or the device) may handle:
Purchase and subscription history linked to your Google Play account (managed by Google).
Transaction and order identifiers provided by Google Play Billing.
Purchase/subscription state (pending, active, cancelled, consumed), stored locally on your device to unlock content and validate entitlements.
The following is stored only on your device and is not transmitted to any server we control:
Game progress (levels solved, cases completed, times, unlocked cities/scenarios).
Virtual balances: Stars and Hints.
Collectible cards ("cromos") and the Almanac collection.
Which packs/subscriptions and one-time offers have been claimed.
Settings and preferences (sound, music, language, theme).
Security values used to protect your local save from tampering (e.g. integrity keys held in the device's protected keystore). These are technical values and are not personal information.
We may receive aggregated and anonymised crash and performance reports through the Google Play Console and/or Firebase Crashlytics. These reports are used only to fix bugs and improve stability and do not identify you personally.
We do not knowingly collect microphone, camera, contacts, photos, health, or precise GPS data.
We use the data above only to:
Show contextual, non-personalised advertising through AdMob (child-directed).
Verify and deliver in-app purchases and manage subscription entitlements via Google Play Billing.
Save and restore your game progress, balances and collection on your device.
Diagnose crashes and improve the Game's stability and performance.
Comply with legal obligations (including COPPA, GDPR and CCPA).
We do not build behavioural or personalised advertising profiles.
We do not sell, rent or trade your data.
We do not track you across other apps or websites.
We do not send you marketing messages.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children (see Section 9).
We do not sell or trade your information. We share limited data only with the service providers strictly necessary to run the Game:

We may also disclose information where required by law, a court order, or a competent authority, or where necessary to protect our legal rights or the safety of users.
This section explains how paid content works. The commercial terms are set out in full in our Terms of Use.
Virtual items and currencies (Stars, Hints, collectible cards, card packs) have no real-world monetary value, cannot be exchanged for cash, and are non-transferable outside the Game.
Card packs ("Sobres") grant randomised collectible cards by rarity. The probabilities (drop rates) for each rarity are disclosed inside the Game before purchase, as required by Google Play.
Consumable purchases (e.g. star or hint packs) are delivered immediately and are generally non-refundable once delivered, except where a refund is required by applicable law or by Google Play's policies.
Subscriptions (e.g. VIP Pass, ×2 Stars) are auto-renewing. Billing, renewal, price and cancellation are managed by Google Play. You can cancel at any time from your Google Play account; cancellation stops future renewals and the benefits remain until the end of the paid period. Full subscription terms and the applicable disclosures are shown before you confirm each purchase.
All purchases require authentication through your Google Play account.
Data
Retention
Local game data
Kept on your device until you uninstall the Game or clear its data.
AdMob data
Retained by Google under its own schedules; we do not control Google's retention.
Purchase / subscription records
Retained by Google Play Billing as needed for financial and tax records (typically several years, per jurisdiction).
Crash reports
Retained for a limited period (typically up to 90 days) in Google Play Console / Firebase.
Murder Sudoku is available to children under 13 and is treated as a child-directed service at all times.
No collection of children's personal information. We do not knowingly collect a child's name, email, phone number, precise location, photos, or any information that could identify or contact a child.
Child-directed advertising. Google AdMob is configured for child-directed treatment (e.g. setTagForChildDirectedTreatment(true)). No personalised or interest-based ads are shown; only contextual, Families-compliant ads are served, and the advertising identifier is not used to build profiles.
Purchases and parental controls. The Game includes in-app purchases and subscriptions. A parental gate protects access to purchases and any external links, and all payments require Google Play authentication. We encourage parents to enable Google Play purchase approvals, PIN/biometric confirmation, spending limits, and Google Family Link controls.
Parental rights. If you are a parent or guardian and believe we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, contact us at robertoarevalogarcia@gmail.com (subject: "COPPA Parental Request — Murder Sudoku"). We will confirm, provide access to, and/or delete such information and instruct our providers to do the same.
We also comply with applicable regional requirements regarding minors, including newer age-assurance and parental-consent rules where they apply.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the GDPR/UK GDPR applies. Our legal bases are:
Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — to operate the Game and show contextual, non-personalised ads.
Contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) — to deliver your purchases and subscriptions.
Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)) — to comply with applicable law, including child-protection rules.
You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and portability, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local Data Protection Authority. To exercise these rights, email robertoarevalogarcia@gmail.com (subject: "GDPR Request — Murder Sudoku"). We aim to respond within 30 days.
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected and how it is used, to delete it (subject to legal exceptions), to opt out of sale/sharing (we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising), and to non-discrimination for exercising your rights. To make a request, email robertoarevalogarcia@gmail.com (subject: "CCPA Privacy Request — Murder Sudoku").
All communication with third-party services (AdMob, Google Play) uses TLS/HTTPS encryption.
We do not operate our own servers that store personal data.
Local game data is kept in Android's protected application storage, and integrity-protection keys are held in the device keystore, inaccessible to other apps.
We review our practices periodically.
No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of data transmitted over the internet.
Advertisements shown in the Game may lead to third-party websites or apps when tapped (after the parental gate, where applicable). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties and encourage you to review their policies.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date, post the new version at the URL listed on the Google Play Store, and, for significant changes, provide an in-app notice. Continued use of the Game after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
