THE SHORT VERSION
• We save your game progress (name, avatar, coins, gems, levels, stats and items) so it isn't lost.
• Voice chat is sent live to the players near you in a match. We never record or store it.
• Meta handles all payments. We never see your card or payment details.
• No ads, no advertising trackers, and we never sell your data.
• Email us any time to see or delete your data.
1. WHO WE ARE
Murder Mystery VR ("the game") is a multiplayer virtual-reality game for Meta Quest made by Midnight Mansion Games ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the game collects, why, who helps us process it, and the choices you have. You can reach us at murdermysteryvr@gmail.com.
2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
• Player account ID: an identifier the game creates from your headset's device ID (or a random ID if none is available). Used to sign you in automatically and link your saved progress to your headset. Stored by PlayFab (Microsoft).
• Game progress: the display name you choose, avatar look, coins, gems, XP and level, wins and stats, items you own or equip, and your daily gift streak. Used to save your progress and show your name, level and look to other players. Stored by PlayFab (Microsoft).
• Purchase information: your Meta user ID and the ID of the item you bought. Used to confirm with Meta that a purchase is real, then deliver your gems or pass. Processed by Meta and PlayFab (Microsoft).
• Gameplay data: your position, movement and actions during a match, plus your name, level and cosmetics. Used so other players in your match can see and play with you. Processed by Photon (Exit Games).
• Voice chat: your microphone audio while you are in a match. Used for proximity voice chat with nearby players. Relayed live by Photon (Exit Games) and not stored.
• Technical data: IP address, headset model, operating system version and connection times. Used to connect you to servers, keep the game secure and stop cheating and abuse. Processed by PlayFab (Microsoft), Photon (Exit Games) and Meta.
We do not collect your real name, your email address (unless you email us), your contacts, your location beyond what an IP address suggests, or your payment details.
3. MICROPHONE AND VOICE CHAT
The game asks for microphone permission so you can talk to other players. When you are in a match, your voice is sent live to nearby players through Photon's servers. Voice chat is not recorded or stored by us or by the game. You can mute any player from the player list (the menu button on your left controller). You can also turn the microphone permission off in your headset settings; the game still works without it, you just won't be heard.
4. THINGS OTHER PLAYERS CAN SEE
Other players in your lobby or match can see your display name, level, avatar, cosmetics and what you do in the game, and can hear you if you use voice chat. Please don't put personal information in your display name. The game filters display names for offensive words.
5. PURCHASES
Gems, the Starter Pack and the Elite Pass are bought through the Meta Quest Store. Meta processes the payment under its own terms and privacy policy. To deliver what you bought, our server sends your Meta user ID and the item ID to Meta to confirm the purchase, then records it on your game account. Everything in the game can also be earned by playing.
6. HOW WE USE INFORMATION
• To run the game: sign you in, save and restore progress, match you with other players and deliver purchases.
• To keep the game fair and safe: detect cheating, investigate reports and enforce bans.
• To fix problems and improve the game.
We do not use your information for advertising, we do not build advertising profiles, and we do not sell or rent your information to anyone.
7. WHO WE SHARE IT WITH
We only share information with the services that run the game for us, and only for the purposes above:

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect players from harm.
8. HOW LONG WE KEEP IT
We keep your game account and progress for as long as you play. If you ask us to delete your data, we delete your account and progress within 30 days. Voice chat is never stored. Our service providers may keep technical logs for a short time for security, under their own policies.
9. YOUR CHOICES AND RIGHTS
• See your data: email us and we'll send you what we hold about your account.
• Delete your data: email us with your in-game display name and roughly when you last played, and we'll delete your account and progress. Purchases made through Meta stay in your Meta account history.
• Change your name: any time in the game, on the Customise board.
• Voice chat: mute other players in the game, or turn the microphone permission off in your headset settings.
Depending on where you live (for example in the EU, UK or California), you may have more rights, such as objecting to processing or complaining to your data protection authority. We'll honor these requests and answer within 30 days.
10. CHILDREN
Meta Quest accounts are for people aged 10 and up, and players aged 10 to 12 must use a parent-managed Meta account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children beyond what is needed to run the game (the player account ID and game progress described above). If you are a parent and believe your child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

12. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
If we change this policy, we'll update it here and change the effective date at the top. For big changes, we'll also tell players in the game.
