Biography

• March 1978
  Graduated from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Nagoya University.

• March 1980
  Completed the Master’s Program in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Graduate School of Engineering, Nagoya University.

• April 1980
  Joined NTT (then Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Public Corporation).

• June 1987
  Received the degree of Doctor of Engineering from Nagoya University.

• June 1992 – May 1993
  Visiting Researcher, Department of Computer Science, Columbia University, USA.

• September 2001
  Director of Research, NTT Communication Science Laboratories.

• April 2003
  Appointed Professor, Graduate School of Information Science, Nagoya University.
