Murasaki Kiwami Studios - Blakeuza Zero Director's Cut

The beginning of two legends... Well, at least, one of theirs.

The year is 2011. Blake Izayoi has already been a respected denizen of Gensokyo for over six years, as the chief butler of the Scarlet Devil Mansion alongside his wife, chief maid Sakuya, married for five.

However, back in the darker sides of the Outside World, a young and struggling handyman by the name of Kazuki Murasaki continues his struggle for survival in the streets of Sotenbori, Osaka, fighting the local Omi Alliance. When conspiracy breaks out that the Omi's chairman, Tsubasa Kurosawa, has ulterior plans for the Tojo and Omi under his iron fist, Murasaki will soon find himself dragged into these schemes, and must fight his way through to protect the only town he can call home.

Blakeuza Zero Director's Cut is the third and definitively final rendition of the original Blake Izayoi Zero mod that started it all, up to date with the current mythos of the Murasaki Everywhere fanfiction. Play through the lens of both Blake and Murasaki to truly learn what it means to live life to the fullest.

Version History:

Beta/Version 1

Previously named "Blake Izayoi Zero". The very first ever Blake Izayoi mod for the RGG/Yakuza series that predated the creation of Murasaki Everywhere.

Originally featured Majima as Blake Izayoi and Kiryu as Sakuya Izayoi. Additionally featured the old "PurpleSpie" (before the creation of the Murasaki character) sona as Lao Gui, Majima/Old Blake's final boss as an undocumented secret cameo. Also had Lao Gui's voicebanks replaced with sound bytes of Spy from Team Fortress 2 for PurpleSpie's boss fight.

Ultimately scrapped to make room for a much needed update as time went on as and the Murasaki story would be fleshed out.

2025 Redux/Version 2

2025 Redux significantly redid a lot of the original mod to match the direction Murasaki Everywhere was going at the time. Now, Blake is properly in the role of Kiryu, and Murasaki finally takes the role of Majima. Originally set in the 90s for fun following the collapse of Japan's economic bubble, much before the official timeline would be made and retconned in Director's Cut to 2011 (a year before Yakuza 5) in order to match the correct events of Murasaki Everywhere.

Also featured Suwako Moriya as Osamu Kashiwagi as a joke, but this would later be removed in Director's Cut and replaced with Yuki Tsuruno from Like a Dragon Gaiden in order to better fit the Yakuza series-based story more than Touhou for Blake.

Released on Valentine's Day and announced at the end of the "Murasaki no Majirock" music video published on the same day in celebration of the Kazuki Murasaki YouTube channel reaching its 700 subscribers milestone.

Director's Cut/Version 3

The third definitive and final update that adds so much more to the 2025 Redux and ties in much more closer to the Murasaki lore. The second mod to be branded as "Blakeuza" (a portmanteau of Blake and Yakuza), following the rebranding of Blake Izayoi Kiwami into "Blakeuza Kiwami".

Released and worked on in just a month and nine days following the official Switch 2 debut of Yakuza 0 Director's Cut. Includes many more Yakuza characters (mostly Yakuza 5 and Gaiden) and made less use of Touhou characters for the presentation/narrative of BZDC.

Also came bundled with earlier versions of the two Murasaki Everywhere story arcs: "Hajimari" and "Gensokyo Origins", detailing the titular Kazuki Murasaki's struggling adult life in Sotenbori and early days in Gensokyo as an amnesiac respectively which would set the foundation of a more consistent story for the Murasaki and Blake characters.

An "Optimized BGM Update" was published on the 7th of November making use of Shin Ryu Mod Manager V4.6.5+'s new method of repacking Criware CPK files for the game, forgoing the need of a very large "bgm.cpk" file for just a few modded boss themes. This was also to make the mod compatible with Jhrino's "Yakuza 0 Co-Op" mod for the potential chance players would want to play BZDC together with the Co-Op mod.

In all retrospect, maybe we should have called this Murasaki Everywhere Zero... :trol:
