Committee Description

Being as the Fourth Committee of the General Assembly, The Special Political and Decolonization Committee was created under the United Nations charter in 1993, and it is one of the main six committees of the United Nations General Assembly. SPECPOL considers a broad range of issus that can be classified under the following classes:

  1. Decolonization Related Agenda Items
  2. The effects of Atomic Radiation
  3. Questions related to information
  4. Decisions related to the UN Peacekeeper organizations
  5. Reviews of special political missions
  6. The situation of Palestinian Refugees
  7. Cooperation for the peaceful use of outer space
  8. Assistance in Mine Action
  9. University for Peace
